Mace Interiors, part of the Mace Group, deliver high-quality tailored fit-out projects that transform commercial spaces.
Mace were able to engage with 196 users over 18 subcontractors simultaneously
Health and Wellbeing surveys provided valuable insight to help keep the workforce happy and well
The anonymous feedback option empowered workforce to speak freely about workplace issues
With the Duty of Care for the external workforce being a primary focus for both Mace and their client, Baker McKenzie, the project team were eager to demonstrate that mental health was going to be as important as physical health and safety during the fit out of a new office space.
The challenge was to embed wellbeing support across the supply chain, by providing every worker with wellbeing support and by giving all workers a voice. All of this had to be made accessible to workers from 18 subcontractors and Mace employees throughout the life-cycle of the project.
The Fit for Work app was made available at scale and configured to support both direct Mace employees and subcontractors across the whole supply chain. Weekly wellbeing content was delivered directly to users’ phones and everyone of the 196 users had 24 hour access to a library of wellbeing resources.
The app also gave all site operatives the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback at any time as well as completing regular health and wellbeing surveys. For the first time, valuable workforce wellbeing data could be gathered to inform the project team and wider business.
On-demand wellbeing content helped to instil a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture on site which was applauded by the end client, Baker McKenzie.
Additionally, the anonymous feedback feature was particularly useful in giving the workforce a voice to help shape their environment. This enabled the management to complete the feedback loop through the workforce messaging and ‘You Said We Did’ features and use the insights gathered to inform strategic operational decisions.
Design Rationale- a specialist architectural metalwork and glazing contractor - needed to put additional safety measures in place to protect their staff and to reassure the main contractor that project work was safe to continue.
The company looked for new technologies that could support a safe return to work, including temperature checking devices, thermal imaging cameras and supporting mobile software.
